Textile acoustic room dividers NOBRE (noise breaker).

Designer:
Signe Aasoja

Design and prototype: 2012

The goal of the design is to bring decorativeness into space, enabling it to organize it and to contribute to a good acoustic environment. Because of their sound absorbing properties, needle felt and tufting material is used. No less important is the visual and aesthetic suitability into contemporary interior.

The creation of three-dimensional shapes is based on origami technique. The shapes are simplified so that minimal cuts be needed into the material and so that there will be no loss in material. The room dividers can be supported on the floor, hung from the ceiling or fixed on the ceiling or wall.

NOBRE was completed as postgraduate work, tutor Mare Kelpmann.
